Title: Senior Asset Manager

The Senior Asset Manager is responsible for leading the operations and management of various project assets that are owned and operated by East Point. This role will assist in the implementation of the company’s business strategy in the space of asset management and operations, while also ensuring the successful delivery of operational projects. This role reports directly to the Director of Asset Management and works with the EPC, Project Development, Business Development, Operations, and Finance teams. Scope may eventually expand to include other renewable energy technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee contracted services for assigned assets, ensuring safety, quality, environmental compliance, and adherence to service agreements
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, ISO, and all project agreements (e.g., PPAs, O&M, interconnection, land leases)
  • Lead and participate in project meetings with contractors, integrators, and stakeholders
  • Support selection, negotiation, and management of service providers
  • Address and resolve legal, contractual, regulatory, and commercial issues
  • Manage warranties in line with project contracts
  • Develop and manage asset business plans, including P&L and capital budgets; report on variances
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements (daily–annual) for assigned assets
  • Coordinate with partners, offtakers, and third parties to resolve issues and ensure alignment
  • Maintain strong communication with counterparties; respond quickly and implement solutions
  • Collaborate on power trading strategies and operational planning
  • Support asset transitions from EPC to operations and onboarding of new assets
  • Partner with EPC on evaluating new storage technologies and associated risks
  • Contribute to cross-functional feedback loops and broader company strategy
  • Build and maintain industry relationships
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed

Skills:

  • Inverter-based resource (IBR) asset management experience
  • Experience with plant operations, substation protocol, regulatory compliance, contractual management, and financial and technical reporting on IBR assets
  • Knowledge of power market concepts, including physical and virtual PPAs, hedges, curtailment, SCED, basis risk, Resource Adequacy, power and commodity price curves, DART optimization, and RECs
  • Knowledge of NERC GO and GOP compliance
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting and presentations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Knowledge of data analytics specific to grid-scale lithium-ion battery projects
  • Knowledge of energy storage technology offerings and suppliers, including inverters and transformers
  • Ability to negotiate and manage vendor and contractor contracts
  • Ability to manage project and portfolio financials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience using Salesforce a plus
  • Able to walk over undeveloped land unassisted, travel unassisted, and sit at a computer for long periods of time
  • Safe driving record, valid driver’s license

Education & Experience:

  • 4-year university degree, BS or BA
  • 5+ years of experience in asset management, specific to energy generation projects. Preference for experience with both distribution- and transmission- interconnected projects
  • 1+ years of experience in the operations and management of grid-scale battery energy storage projects

Travel & Time Commitment:

  • Travel will vary, expect approximately 25% of the time
  • This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times. 

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Compensation for this role includes a base salary range of $132,000 to $166,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus. This range reflects the target level for this hire; however, we may consider candidates at other career levels depending on experience. Final title and compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
