Senior Risk Specialist, Compliance Governance Training Analyst

The Enterprise Compliance Governance Training team is seeking a collaborative, analytically focused risk management professional to join our team. As a Sr Risk Specialist at the Senior Associate level in Corporate Compliance, you will work in a strong team environment to deploy Mandatory Compliance training through a Learning Management System (LMS) to associates across the Capital One Enterprise. We are searching for an individual who is very comfortable using Google Suite of applications and Risk Management methodologies in service of the governance structure of the Training element of the Compliance Management Program. The Sr Risk Specialist will monitor and maintain processes to ensure they are followed accurately and help to resolve issues or escalate when necessary. Maintain and update quality process documents to support a well managed agenda. Collect and analyze data, and measure the effectiveness of governance processes. The Sr Risk Specialist will also communicate updates with internal customers and provide internal customer support as needed.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day oversight of multiple processes: monitor, report, and plan process improvement or redesign initiatives; define, establish, and manage process controls; identify process improvement opportunities and implement them through collaboration with other groups such as the Risk office and management; make final recommendations for approval on changes.

  • Execute research activities and actively engage in problem-solving exercises

  • Ensure document and change control management standards are adhered and maintained consistently; including quality assurance across all L3 processes.

  • Perform data entry, retrieve reports, and conduct analysis of learning event data from a learning management system to then provide recommendations for enhancements/changes

  • Identify Enterprise Compliance Training Plan implementation risks, take appropriate risk mitigation and escalate as necessary

  • Coordinate and conduct data validations of end-to-end processing outcomes

  • Build deep subject matter expertise on existing and future learning platform to inform innovation agenda

  • Perform Analysis and provide recommendations; Take results and data to help management and customers understand implications and determine next steps.

  • Communicate and report on results of assessments, process outcome and issue management.

  • Collaborate on larger initiatives. May participate in cross-functional project teams, including projects driven by other parts of the organization, to provide input, and partner with groups on execution efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 2 years of experience in Compliance, Operations, Project Management, Process Management, Relationship Management, or Risk Management

  • At least 2 years of experience using Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • Proficient in Google App Script

  • Process Management, Project Management or Risk Management Certification

  • 1+ years of experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)

  • 3+ years of experience Compliance, Operations, Project Management, Process Management, Relationship Management, or Risk Management

  • Proficient in use of query and data visualization tools like Tableau

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Risk Associate


McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Risk Associate










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
