As a Senior Credit Analyst, you are responsible for:

Ensuring sound commercial loan and mortgage underwriting to maintain and or limit the scope and risk in the Bank’s loan portfolio. Providing timely and accurate credit analysis to ensure sound commercial C&I and CRE lending activities of the Bank. Conducting proper review and administration of existing and prospective commercial accounts. Acting as a liaison between the Credit Analysts and other departments and handling more complex credit analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Spread statements and conduct appropriate credit analysis of financial information on all commercial account relationships: perform comparative analysis on companies with similar financial data, ratios on liquidity position, profit margin, etc.
  • May have experience in SBA lending programs and underwriting procedures (SOP)
  • Proficient in writing clearly and concisely to generate accurate analysis and on commercial borrowers and prospective accounts in a form acceptable to senior management.
  • Be proficient at and fully utilize the Loan Vantage application software to analyze and track the loan application through the appropriate steps.
  • Receive preliminary information on borrower from Loan Officers; review loan  relationship; ensure proper loan approval documentation
  • Prepare and distribute reports as required
  • Lead and participate in training sessions focused at improving credit skills, technology, techniques and efficiency.
  • Provide support and feedback to the lenders through analysis of loan transactions and offering insight, structuring suggestions, and risk identification and mitigation.
  • Research external sources in effort to improve the quality and insight of transaction analyses.

Education and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in a Commercial Credit/Lending department.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge in underwriting and credit analysis with knowledge in financial statements and tax return analysis.
  • Knowledge of lending activities including commercial, real estate and loan processing.
