At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
Blue Origin is pioneering the future of space-based communications with TeraWave, a revolutionary satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This multi-orbit constellation will consist of optically interconnected satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) and medium Earth orbit (MEO), providing enterprise-grade connectivity for critical operations worldwide.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to support the development of a satellite customer terminal and RF ground station infrastructure. They will operate in an organization that is metrics-driven, and focused on delivering complex technical programs through cross-functional ownership, clear mechanisms, and strong operational rigor.
The role will partner closely with hardware, embedded software, RF, operations, quality, supply chain, and contract manufacturing teams to ensure programs move from concept through prototype, validation, production, and deployment.
Responsibilities
  • Own program execution for customer terminal development efforts across multiple engineering teams.

  • Build integrated schedules, milestone plans, dependency maps, and risk registers for hardware, firmware, RF, test, compliance, and manufacturing workstreams.

  • Drive weekly program reviews, action tracking, and executive reporting with clear status, blockers, decisions, and next steps.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across hardware, embedded software, RF systems, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.

  • Establish program mechanisms for issue escalation, change control, requirement tracking, and decision logging.

  • Partner with engineering leads to identifying technical risks early and drive mitigation plans to closure.

  • Support development of manufacturing readiness, validation plans, and factory ramp activities for customer terminals and RF ground stations.

  • Work with contract manufacturers and external vendors to manage build schedules, deliverables, and quality outcomes.

  • Ensure test, deployment, and field-readiness plans are defined for both terminal and ground station systems.

  • Track cost, schedule, performance, and yield metrics; highlight deviations and drive corrective action.

  • Communicate clearly and frequently with leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and tradeoffs.

  • Help create repeatable program processes that improve velocity, accountability, and predictability across teams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or software engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of technical program management or related leadership experience in complex hardware, embedded systems, telecom, aerospace, or network infrastructure programs.

  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional programs from development through production and deployment.

  • Strong understanding of hardware development, embedded software, RF systems, manufacturing, and system integration.

  • Experience managing programs with contract manufacturers, external suppliers, and technical partners.

  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments, structure problems, and create execution clarity.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using metrics to drive decisions and solve problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and deliver against aggressive timelines.

Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical, mechanical or software engineering, or related field.

  • Background in hardware development supply chain management.

  • Familiarity with regulatory, test, and certification processes for RF products.

  • Experience with production ramp, factory readiness, and yield improvement.

  • Prior experience in program management in high-ownership, high-bar cultures.

Success measures
  • Programs stay on track against schedule, cost, and performance goals.

  • Risks are surfaced early and resolved with clear owners and deadlines.

  • Engineering and manufacturing teams have strong coordination and minimal surprises.

  • Leadership receives concise, accurate reporting and decision support.
