Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring an ICT Senior Consultant - RF Engineer for our client. This job will be involved in the entire project life cycle through all phases of design and construction administration working with architects and all MEP disciplines to ensure a well-coordinated design.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Develop RF designs, manage junior engineers in the process.
  • Produce clear and concise drawings consistent with AHJ and client requirements as well as company format and drawing standards.
  • Apply Codes and Standards to all designs (including working drawings and specifications).
  • Conduct peer reviews and QA/QC oversight.
  • Attend coordination meetings and job site walk-thru.
  • Perform code interpretation.
  • Interface with Code Authorities and AHJ Representatives
  • Assist in business development by expanding on current client relationships, cross selling company services and by attending industry and client events.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of RF Engineering experience
  • Knowledge of IFC, NFPA and Local codes and standards. Knowledge of NYC codes is preferred.
  • NICET In-Building Public Safety Communications (IB-PSC) Design Technician Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire.
  • Current P.E., or ability to obtain within 2-4 years of hire.
  • The ability to achieve security clearance from Federal Government (project specific)
  • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively in a fast–paced, and challenging environment.
  • Open to traveling to various project locales.
  • Experience in using AutoCAD and REVIT to develop designs.
  • Possess strong interpersonal relationship skills and strong communications skills both verbal, written and presentation.
  • Knowledge of active RF systems including traditional, RF Over Fiber and EAP based systems.
  • Experience designing Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS) and/or FDNY Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS).
  • Working knowledge of iBwave (Level 1 Certificate minimum)
  • FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL)
  • Working knowledge of applicable UL and NFPA Standards
  • 4-year Engineering Degree in Electrical or RF Engineering
  • Ability to design In-Building UHF (LMR) 2-Way Commercial Radia Systems inclusive of Distributed Antenna System
  • Ability to design In-Building Cellular Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • Ability to manage junior RF Engineering staff
  • Ability to write proposals
  • Large Project Management Experience
  • Ability to confidently present and sell RF Engineering Services
  • Knowledge and experience with the Architectural Design Process including the requirements of and progression through key phases
  • Schematic Design (Initial Concepts/Layouts/Basis of Design)
