Essential Functions
  • Conducts research, design, and development activities with the goal of developing new or improved products, processes, or services.
  • Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.

      Job Summary-
      We are seeking a Sr. Aeronautical Engineer with expertise in aerodynamic design and characterization in support of our Precision Guided projectiles product line. Key responsibilities include developing and analyzing CFD models, performing aerodynamic trade studies, creating aerodynamic models for simulations, supporting wind tunnel tests, optimizing modeling procedures, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate designs and processes for flight vehicle development. Aerodynamic experience is a must.
      Responsibilities-
      Experience, Essential Functions & Responsibilites, as follows:
      • Commercial CFD applications: STAR-CCM+, Fluent, or Metacomp CFD++
      • Create CFD models to evaluate flight performance across various Mach regimes
      • Conduct a range of CFD analyses to model performance across various physics conditions
      • Conduct aerodynamic trade studies using predictive tools like PRODAS and Missile Datcom
      • Develop aerodynamic models for use in performance simulations and trajectory analysis
      • Support development of wind tunnel tests programs in support of aerodynamic characterization
      • Streamline modeling procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in analysis workflows
      • Perform parametric and optimization studies to refine designs and system performance
      • Develop design and operating guidelines to support consistent and effective processes;
      • Create and review technical documentation, reports, specifications, and design calculations; Proficient in Matlab and Python scripting with experience in Simulink modeling tools
      • Experience utilizing HPC environments to increase modeling and analysis throughput

      Qualifications-
      • Experience characterizing aerodynamics of high velocity aerospace systems using CFD
      • Experienced conducting wind tunnel tests for aerodynamic analysis and characterization
      • Skilled in creating aerodynamic databases for 3- and 6-DoF performance models
      • Expertise with aerodynamic prediction tools like PRODAS or Missile Datcom

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
