Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a Senior Program/Project Manager to help support key indistrial clients and lead the I/C Market Sector in the East Group.  This position allows the flexibility of working remote but is based out of Atlanta and has influence over the eastern half of the US.

Senior Program/Project Managers are responsible for all aspects of a project including resource and project planning, estimating, coordination and control of a project from inception to successful completion.  In this position, it is anticipated that support will be provided to a number of strategic I/C sector clients (in order to help successfully execute projects and to grow Wood's overall relationships.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Network with clients to effectively position for and develop work opportunities,
  • Identify proposal opportunities, prepare contract proposals, and cost estimates,
  • Manage project contracts, staff, scope, budgets, and schedules with the support of key staff,
  • Serve as technical lead on projects within areas of expertise,
  • Participation and collaboration with other Wood offices/regions and staff on larger, multidisciplinary assignments.

The I/C Sector Leadership role will also include working with East Group leadership as well as the Wood's corporate I/C Sector Leader(s) to understand how Wood can maintain relevance, provide value to our I/C Sector Clients, and grow Wood's I/C market share.  Opportunities for growth include but are not limited to involvement in environmental compliance, assessment, permitting, remediation, and property reuse.  Opportunities may also include infrastructure related support of key client active operations including civil engineering and design for new and existing facilities.  Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Understand industry goals, drivers, and emerging technologies and markets,
  • Development of Regional and Group strategies to expand capabilities and achieve sales and growth goals in accordance with the company strategies and plans,
  • Develop new service offerings and expand client relationships/partnerships through internal and cross-service line and cross-geography collaboration,
  • Collaborate with Wood's corporate I/C Sector and MCAP Account Managers to expand business and revenue with established strategic accounts and new target clients,
  • Prioritize and participate in industry associations, organizations, conferences, etc. to gain exposure and to brand Wood in the I/C market.
Skills / Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering, Geology or Environmental Sciences/Management with MS preferred
  • 10 plus years of industrial sector experience 
  • Understand industry goals, drivers, and emerging technologies and markets,
  • Development of Regional and Group strategies to expand capabilities and achieve sales and growth goals in accordance with the company strategies and plans,
  • Develop new service offerings and expand client relationships/partnerships through internal and cross-service line and cross-geography collaboration,
  • Collaborate with IC Sector and MCAP Account Managers to expand business and revenue with established strategic accounts and new target clients,
  • Participate in industry associations, organizations, conferences, etc. to gain exposure and brand Wood in the power market.
