Why This Role Matters Hyperscale and mission critical programs demand exceptional electrical rigor: resilient power architecture, coordinated protection, and constructable documentation delivered on aggressive schedules.

This role provides senior technical leadership to support repeatable, high-quality delivery for complex data center campuses and expansions. You will influence design standards, mentor team members, and serve as a trusted technical partner to clients, contractors, utilities, and commissioning teams. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical design for mission critical and hyperscale data center projects from programming/basis of design through construction documents and construction administration.

Develop power system architecture and documentation including single-line diagrams, load summaries, equipment schedules, and room layouts for MV/LV distribution. Design and coordinate systems including utility service, transformers, switchgear/switchboards, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs/RPPs, grounding/bonding, and lighting. Coordinate with utilities on service requirements, fault duty, metering, protection, and energization sequencing.

Direct and/or review short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies (in-house or with study partners) and integrate results into the design. Drive interdisciplinary coordination (mechanical, controls, FP, structural/architectural, BIM/VDC) to resolve clearances, routing, constructability, and phasing. Perform senior-level QA/QC reviews to ensure code compliance, client standards alignment, and consistent deliverable quality across program work.

Support client and contractor engagement: design reviews, OAC meetings, RFIs/submittals, field observations, and technical issue resolution. Mentor designers and engineers; support development of details, templates, and repeatable standards for program delivery. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience with significant mission critical/data center delivery; hyperscale experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead projects and produce coordinated construction documents (SD/DD/CD) in a multi-discipline environment. Strong working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70; familiarity with electrical safety concepts and NFPA 70E principles.

Experience designing MV/LV power distribution and mission critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, switchgear, transfer schemes). Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD; comfort coordinating in a BIM/VDC workflow. Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions with clients, utilities, and contractors.

Ability to travel to project sites as needed (typically 10-25%) Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a defined period. Experience working within hyperscale client standards, repeatable modular design approaches, and program-level QA/QC. Familiarity with TIA-942 and resiliency/tier concepts as applicable to data center program requirements.

Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower (or equivalent). Experience with fast-track delivery, design-assist, and complex energization/phasing constraints. Commissioning coordination experience and strong constructability mindset What Success Looks Like (First 6-12 Months) Own technical delivery for one or more mission critical programs, producing high-quality packages that align with client standards and schedule expectations.

Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders (client, GC/EC, utility, commissioning) and proactively resolve technical issues. Improve consistency and quality through templates, details, and QA/QC practices that scale across program work. Mentor and upskill team members supporting the program, strengthening both capability and throughput.
