Position Summary
Spire is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead and support forensic and dispute resolution engagements for owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors of the AEC industry. The Senior Consultant performs claims analysis, schedule delay and damages assessments, and the preparation of expert work product for mediation, arbitration, and litigation, while guiding junior team members and contributing to business development, applying deep expertise in project controls (time, cost, and risk). The Senior Consultant supports the completion of client engagements and internal projects, promotes Spire's company values, and works to achieve the company's core purpose.
Responsibilities
Claims & Forensic Analysis
    • Perform various technical analyses, including changed work, schedule delay, acceleration, productivity loss, standard of care, and quantification of damages.
    • Manage, review, and analyze project documents.
    • Evaluate project planning, cost management, and schedule development.
    • Perform legal and industry standards research.
    • Validate the accurate compilation of data from junior team members.

Expert Support & Deliverables
    • Support the engagement team with drafting preliminary findings in preparation for client meetings and deliverables for expert witness use during mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
    • Facilitate the creation of demonstrative aids to assist with conveying findings to key stakeholders.
    • Provide project progress updates to the engagement lead or manager.

Leadership & Team Development
    • Motivate and support junior team members by identifying technical tasks, guiding execution, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
    • Coach, mentor, and empower team members to grow their skills, take ownership of their work, and contribute to project success.
    • Guide team members on technical aspects of project work and delegate specific technical tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion in alignment with project goals.
    • Ensure consistent application of Spire's QA/QC guidelines by junior team members, including consistency, formatting, and fact-checking of reports.
    • Provide timely and constructive performance feedback on project team members to the engagement lead or manager.
    • Promote and maintain a positive team culture and healthy morale throughout project engagements.

Quality & Operations
    • Prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
    • Assist with the development of proposed scopes of work, budgeted hours, resource allocation, and work plans as needed.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of company standards, procedures, and processes by providing thoughtful feedback and suggestions.
    • Assist in the talent acquisition process by participating in candidate interviews and providing input on hiring decisions.
    • Participate in firmwide business strategy review meetings to support long-term planning and organizational growth.

Business Development & Marketing
    • Support the development of prospective client presentations and represent the firm at industry events and networking functions.
    • Attend introductory client meetings and assist with hosting business development sessions, such as Lunch and Learns.
    • Participate in industry conferences, speaking engagements, and professional networking events to identify potential business opportunities for Spire.
    • Review and provide constructive feedback on marketing and business development collateral to ensure alignment with brand and messaging standards.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing engagement and future business opportunities.
