Overview
WHO are we looking for?
CAPTRUST seeks a Senior Communications Associate to join its in-house corporate communications and marketing team. This role supports public relations, strategic communications, awards and accolades, and content development for a rapidly growing and collaborative organization.
This position is part of CAPTRUST's communications team, which advances the firm's growth by strengthening reputation, increasing visibility, and supporting the needs of retirement plan, endowment and foundation, and wealth management clients.
Responsibilities
Public Relations (80%)
Media Relations + PR Execution:
  • Execute against CAPTRUST's strategic communications plan in partnership with the Communications Senior Manager
  • Pitch and secure placements across top-tier, trade, broadcast, and local media
  • Vet and evaluate inbound media opportunitie
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and briefing documents
  • Prepare spokespersons for interviews and support media engagements

Awards and Accolades Strategy + Execution:
  • Manage the firm's awards and accolades calendar, identifying relevant national, regional, and industry opportunities
  • Draft and submit compelling award nominations that highlight CAPTRUST's growth, client impact, culture, and innovation
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to source data, proof points, and storylines for submissions
  • Track submission outcomes, analyze win rates, and refine messaging over time
  • Ensure awards are fully leveraged across marketing channels, including website, social media, press releases, and sales materials

Amplification + Measurement:
  • Develop social media content to amplify media coverage and recognitions (primarily on LinkedIn)
  • Track, evaluate, and report on PR and awards performance, including media placements, sentiment, and reach

Content Creation (20%)
  • Review content and uphold CAPTRUST's writing standards
  • Draft internal news items and website content
  • Draft and place contributed articles from CAPTRUST advisors
  • Support content development for webinars, events, and thought leadership initiatives

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 3 years of B2B public relations experience (agency or in-house)

Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience with writing, research, or data sourcing preferred
  • Financial services experience preferred but not required
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to clarity and precision
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
