Job description

Senior Mechanical Engineer Description

Plan, conduct, and direct mechanical portion of engineering projects of major significance requiring the application of advanced knowledge in electrical/electronic packaging. Originate mechanical design and apply new and unique techniques. Must have good communicative and coordinative skills to supply technical advice and counsel to management and other professionals. May represent the company in outside discussions.

Essential Duties
  • Demonstrate good communicative skills.
  • Plan and develop mechanical product designs.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Create, modify, and maintain product hardware and manufacturing documentation.
  • Direct and lead the assigned project mechanical engineering staff.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for product hardware and documentation development or revision when required.
  • Plan personnel workload and schedule each job or project.
  • Monitor engineering cost, product cost, and schedule of assigned job or project.
  • Coordinate between departments on assigned jobs and/or projects.
  • Ensure that all documentation is complete, checked, and approved on jobs or project as assigned.
  • Release jobs on projects to production.
  • Act as a Mechanical Engineering representative in discussions.
  • Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on jobs or projects as assigned.
  • Develop the Mechanical Engineering aspects of quotes. This includes specification review with regard to mechanical design and documentation and estimating engineering design time to complete.
  • Assist in training and upgrading personnel for greater responsibility.
  • Develop new ideas and concepts for improvement in Engineering Operations.
  • Travel as required for training, support of project tasks, product issues, or other design- or job-related needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • B.S.M.E. Degree or equivalent.
  • Six (6) years’ mechanical design experience which includes four (4) years electromechanical project design and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Compensation

We anticipate filling the Sr. Mechanical Engineer position with an expected compensation range of $96,000 – $113,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. Starting pay and job title are based on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
