Job description

External Job Description: The Senior Quality Engineer will plan, design, configure, document, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain First Horizon test plans, cases, and scripts. The successful candidate should be innovative, energetic, passionate about quality and testing, and comfortable contributing to provide the highest quality of customer experiences. The senior quality engineer will collaborate as a member of a team of developers, designers, product managers, and other QA/testing staff focused on delivering a secure and top-notch new digital experience for our internal and external customers. The role responsibilities will include planning, development, and maintenance of testing artifacts and processes in support of the Internet Banking applications. The candidate should be able to bring technical expertise and industry testing best practice to the development team to ensure high quality software development and delivery. Further, the candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high quality features and capabilities as well as assist to resolve issues and identify and manage defects.

Required and Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Strong test planning, design, execution, and automation skills and experience with the web technology stack is required
  • Comfortable in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, TSS, Node.js
  • Experience with React, TailwindCSS, NextJS or similar frameworks
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks like Storybook, Playwright, or viTest
  • Experience with responsive and mobile applications and their testing, and use of APIs
  • Experience in Web services especially REST
  • Knowledge CI/CD practices and understanding of how to incorporate testing into pipelines
  • Expertise with test automation, proficient in implementing test automation
  • Experience testing applications in a containerized, cloud environment (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Experience with web and mobile applications deployed in complex, multi-tiered environments
  • Understanding of database management systems and handling synthetic data is required
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools would be a plus
  • Substantial Financial Services testing experience a plus
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and instrumentation is also a plus
