Job description

Overview

This position is responsible for the coordination of quality activities including ECOs, inspections, investigations, root cause-corrective actions (RCCA), FAIs, NCRs, and supplier issues.  This position requires customer contact in a cross-functional work environment.  Reports directly to the VP of Quality with line functional QA Managers.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate containment of suspect NC material in stock and WIP and document results.
  • Creation of ICA's, CCA's, and SIP's along with other proactive detection tools that can improve the inspection processes.
  • Holding QRB meetings supporting Quality Managers.
  • Ability to take raw data, separate it into its component parts and put it into a form that is easily understood.
  • Ability to take raw data from numerous sources and compile it into a single presentation that is clear and concise.
  • Ability to interpret instructions from different people to establish and develop desirable result of any charts and graphs needed.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with last minute deadlines, changes, or additions that may be needed in data that is shared.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel Power Query is a plus.
  • Knowledge in SPC a plus.
  • Understanding of DPU and PPM is needed.
  • Provide real time shop floor support for quality investigations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Creation of NCR's and other quality documentation in QCBD as required.
  • Conduct internal audits of the QMS as required.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with the calibration and use of dimensional measuring equipment.
  • Must have experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102. 
  • Experienced in the use of GD&T, MS Office, and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experienced in working on cross-functional improvement teams.
  • Experience in collecting data, graphing in many different ways to assist in goal setting, process improvement opportunities, and monthly, quarterly, and yearly report out measurements.

Education/Experience:

Three to five years' experience in a NC machine shop, weld shop, precision sheet metal, assembly shop or equivalent.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid Kansas driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

  • Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Team oriented
  • Detail oriented with meticulous work habits
  • Inspection ability for details and assemblies
  • CMM background a plus
  • CATIA and verisurf software a plus
  • Romer Arm experience a plus
