We are currently seeking to add aSenior Civil Engineerto our dynamic team inRichland, Washington. 

Apex Companies LLC is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer who is ready to lead civil engineering design projects while helping drive the continued growth of our presence in the Tri-Cities market. This role is ideal for a technical leader with a business development mindset who enjoys balancing project delivery with client relationship management and strategic growth initiatives. In partnership with local senior leadership, you will help identify new opportunities, strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients, support marketing and proposal efforts, and successfully manage projects from pursuit through completion. 

This position serves a diverse portfolio of both public and private clients and requires someone who is passionate about being client-facing, building long-term partnerships, and representing Apex in the marketplace. A large majority of our work is multidisciplinary, allowing you to collaborate with professionals across our engineering and environmental service lines to deliver comprehensive solutions. Primary Job Responsibilities: 

• Serve as senior technical lead on cumulative project total >$750K annually.    
• Contribute to successful business development of >$250K annually.  
• Coordinate project needs and deliverables with other discipline leads and business units  
• Manage design staff as lead engineer on project tasks.  
• Provide leadership in efficient and constructability design of civil projects.  
• Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met.  
• Participate in professional organizations and functions.  
• Mentor young professionals.  
• Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports. 
• Manage project financials and billings for projects.  

What we are looking for: 

• A bachelor's in civil engineering and professional registration is required or obtainable within a year of hire (Washington) 
• 8+ years' experience as a consulting engineer providing design and project management of land development and municipal projects 
• A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints. 
• A proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets. 
• Flexibility and creativity in engineering approaches 
• Proficient skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling and MS software applications 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management. 
• Management experience leading and supervising staff 
• Marketing experience writing proposals and procuring projects
