Job description

Immediate need for a talented Senior Python Developer. This is a 11+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Pennington, NJ(Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $60/hr - $65/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data quality strategy for Hellium Services, ensuring consistent behavior, adherence to common patterns, and high reliability across Global Markets applications.
  • Provide QA leadership for modernization initiatives within the Quartz Financial Stack, driving test coverage, automation, and validation of both functional and non functional requirements.
  • Own the quality assurance approach for trade horizontal services, shared components, and tooling used across multiple asset classes, with accountability for integration, regression, and cross dependency testing.
  • Lead testing and validation of Python based backend services, including API testing, data integrity checks, event driven flows, resiliency, and failure scenario validation.
  • Partner closely with trading, product, development, and DevOps leadership to assess delivery risk, influence design decisions, and embed quality early through shift left and shift right testing practices.
  • Establish and enforce QA best practices across the SDLC, including test automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, observability validation, and release readiness criteria.
  • Act as a key stakeholder for production readiness, ensuring operational resilience, stability, and compliance for mission critical front to back trading workflows.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Key skills; Python, React
  • Quartz (Athena or SecDB acceptable)
  • Web services componenets front and back (REST, JSON, React.js)
  • 7 years of hands on experience validating and assuring quality of production systems built with Python based backends and React frontends, with a strong focus on reliability, correctness, and user experience.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including object oriented design, microservices architectures, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments, enabling effective test strategy design across the SDLC.
  • Proven experience testing distributed systems, event driven architectures, and real time or near real time data pipelines, including failure scenarios, data consistency, and performance under load.
  • Skilled in defining and executing test plans, test automation strategies, and quality gates for agile delivery, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams.
