Job Description

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions while supporting the modernization of financial systems, processes, and tools that enable the business.
We currently have an opportunity on our Projects and Fixed Assets Accounting team. This team is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the Company's projects and fixed assets, including providing capital and operations and maintenance determinations to internal customers.
This role is well-suited for an accounting professional who is comfortable working with modern financial systems and evolving technology and who brings a continuous improvement mindset. Successful candidates demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance data quality while supporting accounting, reporting, and business needs in a changing systems environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to learn new systems quickly, leverage technology and data effectively, and contribute to process improvements that strengthen controls, streamline workflows, and support timely, accurate financial information.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and review monthly close entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Analyze accounting transactions, identify issues, research applicable guidance, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Support compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and SOX procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal customers, auditors, regulators, and cross functional teams to support business and reporting needs.
  • Contribute to process improvements, efficiencies, and documentation across accounting activities.
  • Support the modernization of accounting processes and data through financial systems and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Support the transition of accounting processes and data from legacy systems to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist with ERP configuration, testing, and implementation activities related to projects, fixed assets, and related accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Information Technology, and business partners to map current processes to ERP functionality and identify process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support data conversion, reconciliation, internal controls, and SOX compliance activities associated with ERP implementation and ongoing system enhancements.

Requirements:
Accounting Analyst II:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, accounting, general business, tax, statistics or a related field is required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of theory and general practices of subject area.
  • Demonstrated advance understanding of the accounting field and good understanding of the company's business processes and operations.

Hiring Range: $68,027 to $87,754; ML 7
Accounting Analyst III includes the requirements for II plus:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the theory and practices of related accounting field.
  • Demonstrated depth of technical competency indicating mastery of the theory and practice of the subject area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and big picture understanding of major business processes and operations.

Hiring Range: $88,336 to $114,838; ML 9
Senior Accounting Analyst includes the requirements for II and III plus:
  • 8+ years of progressive responsibility in accounting.
  • Requires the capacity to work with peers, external auditors, and management.
  • Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls and regulatory rules/regulations is required.
  • Demonstrate effective and flexible verbal and written communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of technical expertise and Independent decision making.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrated informal leadership preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Masters in accounting, finance, economics, general business, tax, or statistics preferred.

Hiring Range: $100,378 to $131,496; ML 10
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with additional day(s) determined by the manager.
