Why Join Crowley:

At Crowley, the Senior Analyst, Finance is more than an analytical role—it’s a chance to help design and shape a growing FP&A function. You’ll work within a newly established team to build foundational processes, implement tools, and deliver insights that directly influence strategic direction and operational outcomes across the business.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

Provides financial planning and analysis (FP&A) support across multiple lines of business. Owns complex budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; translates large and disparate datasets into clear insights and recommendations for leaders; and drives continuous improvement in planning processes, forecasting accuracy, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead annual budget and periodic forecast cycles for assigned functions and lines of business; develop driver-based models and document assumptions.
  • Perform month-end/quarter-end financial analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast/prior year), identify key drivers, and provide concise narratives and executive-ready materials.
  • Build and maintain financial models for scenario planning, headcount planning, and capital investment proposals; assess ROI, NPV/IRR, and payback period where applicable.
  • Partner with business leaders to improve resource allocation and operating efficiency; proactively surface risks and opportunities and recommend actions.
  • Develop and automate dashboards and recurring reports; improve data quality and definitions, and standardize KPI reporting.
  • Analyze complex datasets and perform ad hoc analyses to answer high-impact business questions.
  • Support governance and compliance needs (policy adherence, audit readiness, documentation) and contribute to process improvements in planning and reporting.

Key Deliverables / Success Measures

  • Accurate, timely monthly variance analysis with clear driver-based insights and actionable recommendations.
  • On-time delivery of budget/forecast cycles with documented assumptions and traceable model logic.
  • Improved reporting efficiency through automation and standardization (e.g., reduced manual effort, fewer reconciliations, improved data quality).
  • Trusted partnership with stakeholders as evidenced by proactive identification of risks and opportunities and effective decision support.

Qualifications

Education & Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered. MBA and/or CFA charterholder or progress toward CFA (Level I/II) preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical finance role, with demonstrated ownership of budgets/forecasts and executive-facing deliverables.
  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholders and managing competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analytics and building scalable reporting solutions strongly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Excel skills required (e.g., PivotTables, Power Query/Power Pivot, complex formulas; VBA a plus).
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint for executive-ready storytelling.
  • Experience building dashboards and self-service reporting in Power BI or similar environment preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills (forecasting, variance analysis, scenario modeling); statistical or predictive modeling experience is a plus.

What We Offer?

We inspire top talent by offering a comprehensive and competitive package that supports the diverse needs of our people—on land, at sea, in offices, and remotely.
