Summary Public Works Utilities Operator-CDL Minimum starting salary is $28.2555 hourly Minimum Qualifications Required: H.S. Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License TCEQ Class C Water Operator License TCEQ Class II Collection License May be required to become certified for the Respiratory Protection and Confined-Space Entry Program and maintain certification Senior Public Works Utilities Operator-CDL Minimum starting salary is $29.3422 hourly Minimum Starting Salary is $30.97 hourly with a Class B or Collection Class III License Minimum Starting Salary is $32.60 hourly with a Class A Water License Minimum Qualifications Required: H.S. Essential Functions Operates backhoes, dump trucks, front-end loaders, trencher vehicles (w/trailer), and various other sizes and types of equipment as may be required. Performs semi-skilled and skilled work and uses tools to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of W/WW systems. Drives vehicles to transport equipment to and from job sites which requires a commercial driver's license.

Interprets maps, drawings, plans, and specifications; utilizes GIS mapping Follows safety precautions in all work performed; reports problems and emergencies; performs duties within the scope of authority and training; duties may vary depending on job assignment and individual skills. Performs operation, inspection, and maintenance of a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment. Performs setup, operation, and maintenance of a variety of safety-related equipment according to utility safety procedures and standard operating procedures.

Communicates with customers to schedule or work with a minimum of disruption. Completes paperwork, forms, and reports as necessary. Required to respond after-hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.

Required to work in trenches or in a confined space to perform maintenance tasks.
