Job description

Overview

The Senior Project Manager provides project-related management for small to mid-scale construction projects across various markets within an assigned Region or Division and is responsible for utilizing H&M's Project Management Methodology to manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle, while being accountable for all aspects of each project's success.
This position provides direct support to other functional project teams in the planning and execution of the job including resolving issues, managing resources, coordinating projects, interfacing with client representatives, overseeing project accounting, training, mentoring and coaching. The Senior Project Manager is also responsible for managing third party resources and overall project performance. They may also have authority to develop proposals and assign projects.
The Senior Project Manager serves a single-point contact and ensures compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology, upholding H&M safety and quality management protocols.


Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager plans, monitors, and reports on project status and performance data to management and stakeholders. They will participate in Executive level multi-stakeholder conflict resolution and avoidance to ensure efficient productivity and completion of projects.
The Senior Project Manager will be accountable to monitor, manage, develop and implement risk mitigation plans and communicate risk for both self-performed and subcontracted work across all phases of complex and/or multiple projects. They are also responsible for conducting detailed analysis and data mining to identify, measure, monitor, validate and enumerate existing and emerging risks and opportunities.
Additionally, the Senior Project Manager provides thought leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology and/or selection of tools, approaches and process enhancements using fundamentals of H&M Project Management practices. Implements infrastructure and processes to enable deployment against project demands. The Senior Project Manager may have management responsibilities for a small team; OR be an individual contributor with responsibilities for providing guidance or leading complex initiatives.
The Senior Project Manager ensures that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy. This role manages in an environment of trust and candor, promotes accountability, and assertively offers encouragement and constructive feedback.
This position is also responsible for managing additional resources assigned to an initiative/project, dependent on scope, including hiring, training, mentoring, and assignment of work.


Qualifications
  • Experience managing mid-scale projects and advanced knowledge of construction and utility industry practices
  • Understanding of Critical Path Scheduling software and MS Office Suite
  • PMP certification and completion of H&M PMO training
  • Complex problem-solving skills

BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or Business
