Senior Federal Project Manager

Location: Conyers, GA / Remote (Hybrid options available)

Position: Senior Federal Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Federal Project Manager to lead the successful execution of multi-disciplinary Architecture and Engineering (A/E) projects for federal clients. This role is responsible for managing multiple task orders under Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, overseeing project scope, pricing, scheduling, staffing, quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate has extensive federal project management experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects for agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the successful execution of multiple federal A/E projects and task orders from proposal through project closeout.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, quality control, and overall project profitability.
  • Lead pricing efforts and coordinate with internal disciplines, joint venture partners, and subconsultants during proposal development.
  • Oversee projects performed as the prime consultant, subcontractor, or through joint venture partnerships.
  • Participate in pre-bid site visits to evaluate project requirements and develop accurate scopes of work and pricing.
  • Utilize project management software, including Deltek Ajera, to forecast workloads, manage staffing, monitor project performance, and track financial metrics.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Raymond quality standards.
  • Manage subcontractors and subconsultants throughout project execution.
  • Prepare, review, and approve project invoices, including subconsultant billing, while coordinating with Finance to ensure accurate reporting and timely payment.
  • Prepare and deliver required project status reports, manpower reports, and other contract deliverables.
  • Plan, lead, and document client meetings, milestone reviews, and internal project review meetings.
  • Coordinate staffing needs with Discipline Directors and provide feedback regarding team performance and resource requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Contracting Officers, Project Managers, and key federal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business Development leaders and Regional Vice Presidents to support capture strategies, strengthen client relationships, and identify future contract opportunities.
  • Mentor Federal Project Managers and provide guidance on federal project delivery processes and best practices.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA/AIA) license required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Architecture and Engineering project management experience.
  • Extensive experience managing federal A/E projects for agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, VA, or other federal clients.
  • Experience managing IDIQ contracts and multiple concurrent task orders preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Military experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, contract administration, and project delivery.
  • Experience managing project financials, staffing, schedules, and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Pre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver's license required.
