Job Description: 

L3Harris Corporation is seeking a Senior Specialist, Project Engineer (PE) (Level 4) for the Melbourne/Palm Bay, FL location.  This is an opportunity to take on unique challenges, expand your skills and experience, and contribute to mission critical systems solutions that help protect the U.S.A. and our allies, both Domestic and Internationally. Essential Functions: 

  • Conduct and lead Peer Reviews and Table-Top Reviews. 

  • Work with the technical team to identify, mitigate, and close program risks. 

  • Serve as the technical lead of the project with cost and schedule responsibilities. 

  • Develops, presents, and delivers comprehensive presentations to the project team,upper management, and customer personnel in a clear and concise manner. 

  • Successful startup activity, including staffing, robust mitigation plans and establishment of the technical baseline and change management process. 

  • Planning andmanagement of the products / projects on schedule and within budgetconstraints. 

  • Monitors theproduct/project from initiation through completion and/or customeracceptance. 

  • Develops,manages, and maintains all aspects of project-level risks, including mitigation, costing, and planning. 

  • Establishment and execution of detailed integrated master schedules. 

  • Develops, monitors, and statuses detailed MS Project schedules. 

  • Uses Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reports to manage project performance. 

  • Review of earned value metrics such as CPI, SPI, TCPI, and ETC to drive program focus. 

  • Estimateresource and material needs for the project/product.  

  • Ensures thatproducts/projects delivered meet customer requirements and specifications. 

  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement as evidenced by executed improvement projects. 

  • Employee engagement to meet project needs. 

  • Maintaining forecasted demand signal on resource needs and partnering with the EMs, talent acquisition and supply chain on development of plans for accomplishing the engineering work. 

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment; interact, anticipate, and respond to customer needs. 

  • Ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Experienceexecuting throughout the project lifecycle including requirements flow down and allocation, design, development, test, and sell-off. 

  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills in a technical informationenvironment. 

  • Demonstrated Earnedvalue / Cost account management experience, with cost and scheduleresponsibility experience. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workload appropriately. 

  • Demonstrated methodical approach to their work. 

  • Broad Engineering experience acrossmultiple disciplines. 

  • Proficient with MS project and other MS Office packages. 

  • Functionalmanagement experience or direct involvement in resource management forecasting and placement. 

  • Proficient in using DOORS for requirements management. 

  • Demonstrated experience with Firmware and Software Requirements. 

  • Knowledgeable in Radio Frequency (RF) and Satellite communication
