Job description

Pivot North Architecture is a full service architectural and interior design firm offering comprehensive and scalable design services to an array of residential, institutional, and commercial clients. We are currently looking for an Architectural Project Designer Level 2 to join our collaborative team.
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in becoming a leader in their field while being a valued part of a growing design firm. Working closely with and supporting our team of architects and designers, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating project design deliverables for a variety of project types, including but not limited to healthcare, education, residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.
Leveraging your knowledge and experience, you can expect to contribute valuable technical and design aspects to our award-winning projects and teams. Responsibilities may include investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions, in addition to developing contract deliverables. Your contributions will further include professional architectural support in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects. You may have the opportunity to independently facilitate and recommend approaches related to architectural design problems and methods and carry out complex and unique assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

Education and Experience:
  • Professional bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited university
  • 6+ years professional experience
  • Knowledge of sustainable design concepts and how they can be integrated into projects.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D design materials for client/project team review.
  • Perform product research; assists project designers and project architects with material selection, and system and detail research.
  • May assist or lead the design team in the construction administration phase, based on experience.
  • Foster a commitment to design excellence and client service.
  • Proficiency in design, problem solving, sustainable design and emerging computer technologies.
  • Intermediate knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in commercial, health care, residential, multi-family, or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, construction drawings, and specification manuals.
  • Ability to effectively balance tasks on several projects at once, each at different phases of design and construction.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Skillful self-time management with capability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), prepare and modify architectural documents at the direction of the project designer or more senior design professionals, coordinating design intent and firm standards.
  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems.
  • Prepare construction documents and technical architectural details.
  • Coordinate architectural scope elements with those of other disciplines.
  • Perform building code and accessibility application research.
  • Represent the firm and its values effectively through communication and professionalism.

Working Environment
This individual will work from our main office in Boise, ID as well as remotely when needed. This position may require some regional and national travel.
Job Type: Full-time.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
