McShane Construction Company is looking for a Senior Project Manager!


As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate multiple industrial projects while serving as a trusted partner to our clients. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design and quality expectations. You will be responsible for the oversight, mentoring and training of all Project Management staff on multiple projects.

Responsibilities


Project Planning and Execution

•Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies

•Lead the project team in executing project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and milestones

•Implement effective project controls to track project performance, identify potential issues, and proactively implement corrective measures


Project Controls

•Complete understanding and analysis of executed Owner contract and 20ish contract terms review

•Responsible for writing all Purchase Orders and Subcontracts during buyout phase and prepare, implement and track risk mitigation plans as necessary

•Confirm subcontractor insurance compliance throughout project

•Ensure the project management staff is successful in the administration of all project control documents

•Manage, write and issue all PCIs related to subcontractor changes as well as Owner changes

•Manage project forecasting to produce accurate cost reporting

•Take ultimate responsibility for the preparation of Owner billings

•Approve subcontractor/vendor billings

•Establish subcontractor G703 values

•Review and approve monthly subcontractor G706 forms


Schedule Management

•Produce or participate in the preparation of project schedules and updates

•Review SmartPM grading and adjust schedules to meet target grades

•Implement a recovery strategy for projects that are not on schedule


Stakeholder Management

•Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders

•Foster strong relationships and effective communication to understand and address project requirements, expectations, and concerns

•Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve conflicts, manage change orders, and ensure customer satisfaction

•Conduct regular project meetings and provide comprehensive updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and opportunities


Team Leadership and Development

•Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary project team, including project engineers, assistant project managers, and other project staff.

•Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting professional growth and development

•Delegate responsibilities effectively, monitor team performance, and provide guidance and support to ensure project success

•Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members


Cost Control and Financial Management

•Collaborate with the estimating and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting and timely procurement of materials and services.

•Manage project budgets, monitor project costs, and implement effective cost control measures

•Review and negotiate change orders, subcontractor agreements, and supplier contracts to protect the project's financial interests

•Prepare accurate and timely project financial reports, including budget analysis, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete assessments


Contract and Risk Management

•Oversee contract administration, ensuring compliance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications

•Mitigate project risks by implementing risk management strategies, identifying potential issues, and developing contingency plans

•Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to manage claims, disputes, and insurance requirements

•Ensure proper documentation and communication of project-related correspondence, delays, and dispute resolutions


Quality Management

•Support project team with implementation of company’s Quality Manual

•Track and respond to project consultant inspection reports monthly

Safety

•Drive enforcement of the company’s Safety Program

•Ensure the preparation of the site-specific project safety plan is completed

•Perform Job Site Safety Audits and discuss recommendations for change with the Superintendent

•Exercise safety leadership through personal example


Qualifications


•Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

•10+ years’ experience in construction management.

•Proficiency in managing project controls and understanding construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.

•Proficiency in construction management software (including CMiC, Bluebeam, Smart PM, Salus, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.

•Proficiency in MS Project/ Primavera P6


Salary Description:

$135,000-165,000 per year. This is a good faith estimate based on available market data. Final offers depend on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, cell phone allowance, and all company-sponsored employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match and profit sharing, student loan assistance, and PTO.
