About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager/ Project Director, the Senior Project Coordinator assists and supports the Project Manager(s) on various projects and will be responsible for all coordinating duties and assist with the project administrative processes.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of construction projects. Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
  • Supervise and mentor junior project coordinators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and train other project personnel, when applicable.
  • Ensure the project team adheres to the provided timelines and deliverables.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, plans, schedules, and reports. Ensure proper version control and accessibility.
  • Record, track, and process all construction drawings.
  • Develop project schedules, incorporating milestones, tasks, and dependencies. Monitor project progress, track deviations, and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Assist in preparing the project baseline schedule and updating the schedule throughout the project.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between project stakeholders. Provide regular updates to project managers, clients, and team members.
  • Collaborate with project managers to allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials. Ensure resource availability to meet project milestones.
  • Assist in tracking project expenditures against budgets. Collaborate with project managers to manage project costs and propose cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in reconciling subtrade and supplier's accounts.
  • Assist in preparing budget reports, monthly Project Cost Reports, cash-flow, and progress billings.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients. Address client inquiries and concerns while ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

Qualification Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Civil/Construction/Architectural) or technical college diploma in Construction Management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction experience of equivalent.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards
  • WELL Accredited is an asset
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, and BIM software knowledge is an asset


Working Conditions and Environment

  • Primary work location is in the head office or project sites
  • Project related travel anticipated
  • Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons
