What is a senior project architect?

Senior Project Architects are experienced professionals who lead the design and management of architectural projects from conception through completion. They oversee the work of teams, coordinate with clients and consultants, and ensure that projects meet all regulatory, budgetary, and quality requirements. Senior Project Architects are responsible for translating client needs into functional and aesthetic designs while managing schedules and resources. To thrive as a Senior Project Architect, you need advanced expertise in architectural design, project management, and a professional degree in architecture, often supported by licensure such as an NCARB certification. Proficiency with design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM systems, along with knowledge of building codes and construction documentation, is crucial. About the Job

You will play a key role in maintaining technical quality, consistency, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible supporting projects through construction, ensuring design intent is accurately translated into buildable solutions, and for developing and coordinating construction documents.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work and grow professionally within a collaborative and supportive studio environment.

  • Experience directing a team of architects, designers, and consultants.
  • Experience coordinating consultant teams and leading meetings.
  • Revit proficiency.
  • Strong organizational and technical capability, including demonstrated experience with preparing, coordinating, and delivering construction drawings and specification submissions.
  • Experience in Construction Administration and jobsite visits.
  • Demonstrated success with making difficult decisions, especially in the presence of incomplete information or conflicting interests.
  • Understands basic risk management strategies, including protection of both the firm and the client.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, technically knowledgeable, and detail-oriented.
  • Collaborative team player, able to contribute effectively in a studio environment.
  • Experience in mentoring and sharing knowledge to all levels.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks independently.

  • Salary: $115,000+
  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life)
  • Competitive PTO
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Professional development opportunities
