Job description

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. has a career opportunity for a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Supplier Program Manager (SPM) to join the Supply Chain team. As a Senior SPM, you will manage every aspect of a program’s relationship with its critical suppliers and supplier material deliveries, which are vital to the success and timely execution of Saab programs.

This position is based in East Syracuse, NY, and is eligible for Saab, Inc.'s relocation package.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic management of various suppliers and their material deliveries.

  • Directly manage multiple subcontractor suppliers and monitor their performance against deliverables documented in a Statement of Work.

  • Coordinate and lead weekly Supply Chain team meetings to review the status of purchase orders, material schedules, and anticipated deliveries.

  • Conduct quarterly Supplier Program Management reviews, presenting supplier performance data to stakeholders, including Supply Chain leadership and the Program Management Office.

  • Track, maintain, and report metrics related to supplier on-time delivery and supplier risks.

  • Develop, track, and update material forecasts that contribute to the timely recognition of forecasted revenue commitments to the business.

  • Provide weekly updates to Supply Chain leadership on program accomplishments, milestones, current actions, and risks.

  • Lead and/or participate in efforts to provide material cost and labor inputs for proposal efforts.

  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with critical suppliers covering supplier performance in quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Lead resolution of technical and programmatic supplier issues.

  • Assist with metrics, reporting, continuous improvement, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Travel up to 25% annually, both domestically and internationally, in support of program execution and business development efforts.

Compensation Range: $92,200 - $115,300

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience, or MBA/MS/JD degree with 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the procurement process (sourcing, qualifying suppliers, placing orders, tracking on-time deliveries, and expediting).

  • Experience navigating an ERP system.

  • Experience with contracting methods and types.

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving, with the ability to apply sound judgment and creativity.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Financial acumen, including the ability to determine cost reasonableness.

  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a production, developmental, or technology transfer environment, with preference for aerospace and defense experience.

  • Supply chain and/or contracts experience with the U.S. Government, Department of Defense, or Federal Aviation Administration.

  • Experience managing subcontractor deliverables documented in a Statement of Work.

  • Cross-functional experience working with Quality, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Program Management.

  • Continuous Improvement certification (Black Belt, Green Belt).

  • Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).

  • Experience interacting with programs and reporting to business leadership.
