Forth is seeking an individual with a passion for managing innovative projects which advance electric mobility. We're especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: electric vehicles and charging, micromobility, car sharing and other shared mobility programs, and electrifying farm equipment. As a Senior Program Associate, you will coordinate processes to achieve project deliverables that advance one or more of Forth's strategic objectives and drive equitable access to electric mobility solutions.
We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about electric mobility, comfortable working with diverse consumers and organizational partners, and who share our commitment to racial diversity, equity and inclusion. The successful candidate will be expected to wear many hats, work independently and collaboratively, and play an active role in the organization's development.
Initial Assignment:
We're seeking a Senior Program Associate for a range of EV charging-related initiatives, including providing technical assistance, supporting outreach and engagement efforts with multifamily, commercial, local government, and utility stakeholders, and helping develop related educational resources that advance EV charging adoption.
This role is a great fit for someone who is passionate about electric transportation, has a strong understanding of EV charging technologies and infrastructure, and enjoys translating complex technical information into clear, practical resources.We are seeking a collaborative self-starter who has a knack for the details, enjoys building relationships with diverse stakeholders, and is excited to support multiple projects alongside their teammates. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Project Coordination (~90%)
Under the guidance of Project Leads, the Senior Program Associate will:
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of projects that advance electric mobility, including supporting technical assistance program operations by monitoring and responding to technical assistance intakes and maintaining organized databases to track request status, progress, and next steps
  • Coordinate marketing, communications, and reporting activities by maintaining outreach and engagement tracking databases, aggregating project and program data for reporting and continuous improvement, and support newsletter and social media content development
  • Support market research and content development by reviewing technical documents, researching strategies and best practices to advance electric mobility adoption
  • Collect, clean, and conduct basic analysis of project data; draft summaries of outcomes and lessons learned for use in toolkits and white papers published by Forth
  • Support specific tasks and timelines within project work plans to support the completion of deliverables and required reporting
  • Support the preparation of project budgets and expense tracking
  • Coordinate with project partners and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective communication
  • Contribute to the planning, and production, and execution of outreach and engagement events related to project work
  • Travel to and present at conferences and meetings as requested
  • Provide logistical and occasional content support for the convening of industry stakeholders and management of working groups; represent the organization when appropriate

Business Development (~10%)
In partnership with Development staff and under the direction of senior Programs staff, the Senior Program Associate will:
  • Support the development of new project concepts by conducting background research and preparing materials for new sources of funding
  • Assist with proposal development and RFP responses, including basic content, formatting documents, and gathering required attachments
  • Track funding opportunities and synthesize industry trends to identify new funding and partnership opportunities
  • Surface insights from partner/client feedback to inform program strategy and new project development
  • Help promote Forth's activities and events to external partners

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

  • Experience and Education
    • Two years of experience in project coordination, preferably in
      transportation, energy, or related field
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of EV charging technologies and infrastructure, or equivalent experience in an adjacent field (e.g., renewable energy, utilities, electrical trades)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide responsive support to diverse audiences, and communicate solutions clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to deliver outcomes
  • Strong project coordination, time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Collaborative, team player approach
  • Basic research and critical thinking skills - ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information from various sources to inform decision-making, solve problems, and stay updated on industry trends
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally, occasionally overnight, up to 5 times a year.
  • Located in or willing to relocate to Portland, OR before starting
  • Able to maintain a safe home office environment

Helpful

  • Hands-on experience with EV charger installation across site types (multifamily preferred), and/or construction or property development
  • Familiarity with utility electrification programs and EV charging incentive programs
  • Prior experience in customer service, technical assistance, or other support-oriented roles

  • Existing relationships with relevant stakeholders (electric utilities, transportation agencies, charging companies, car companies, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with matrixed organizations; ability to use systems thinking and interpret complex stakeholder needs
  • A valid drivers license and clean driving record may be required depending on the specific responsibilities of the role, including but not limited to travel, site visits, or other business-related driving
  • Nonprofit sector experience

COMPENSATION
Starting salary range is $56,250-$68,750 annually, commensurate with experience. Forth has adopted a Compensation Philosophy to define our strategy and guiding principles for how pay is determined, managed, and communicated to team members. Forth strives to pay competitive salaries while prioritizing internal pay equity. We set pay ranges for all roles based on classification level, benchmarked against similar-stage growth organizations in all sectors and several US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by considering the amount and relevancy of education and prior work experience.
Excellent benefits include four weeks of paid vacation annually, fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance for the employee and all dependents, and an employer retirement contribution after six months (no match required). We also provide access to electric vehicles for business use, a professional development budget, an Employee Assistance Program, and a flexible working schedule.
