We are seeking a Mid to Senior-Level SQL Developer with strong Production Support and analytical capabilities to support business applications built on MySQL and PostgreSQL. This role bridges business requirements and technical execution โ€” translating business needs into efficient SQL code, reports, and data solutions, while serving as a key escalation point for resolving complex production issues. The ideal candidate combines advanced development skills with strong analytical thinking, works independently, and is comfortable engaging directly with business stakeholders and leading problem resolution efforts. Key Responsibilities Business Requirements & Analysis * Lead discussions with business stakeholders and Product Owners to gather, clarify, and document data and reporting requirements * Translate ambiguous or complex business requirements into clear technical specifications, queries, and data solutions * Perform in-depth data analysis to support business decision-making, identify trends, and validate data accuracy * Actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies (planning, standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives) as the SQL/data subject matter expert * Partner with business analysts to validate delivered solutions meet requirements (UAT support) * Proactively identify gaps or risks in requirements before development begins SQL Development * Design, write, test, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers in MySQL and PostgreSQL * Develop and maintain ETL/data transformation scripts to support reporting and integration needs * Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc data extracts for business users * Establish and enforce coding standards, version control practices, and documentation requirements * Lead peer code reviews and mentor junior developers/analysts on SQL best practices * Identify opportunities to optimize existing queries and processes for performance and maintainability Production Support * Serve as a senior escalation point for production database and application issues * Monitor scheduled jobs, batch processes, and data pipelines; lead troubleshooting of failures and reruns * Investigate and resolve complex data discrepancies, failed transactions, and application-reported issues * Drive root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement permanent, long-term fixes * Own incident and problem management documentation and follow-up for assigned issues * Participate in on-call rotation, providing leadership during critical/high-severity incidents * Coordinate across DBAs, developers, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex cross-functional issues * Contribute to building and improving support processes, runbooks, and monitoring practices Analytical & Data Quality * Analyze large, complex datasets to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies * Design and implement validation frameworks/scripts to proactively catch data issues before production impact * Lead data reconciliation efforts between systems/applications * Provide analytical support for audits, compliance requests, and management reporting * Present findings and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience) * 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer, Data Analyst, or Production Support Analyst * Advanced, hands-on experience writing complex SQL in MySQL and PostgreSQL * Proven experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical/data solutions with minimal oversight * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex data/production issues * Demonstrated experience owning production support and incident/root cause analysis end-to-end * Familiarity with job scheduling tools and monitoring production batch jobs * Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical teams and business stakeholders * Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments * Ability to mentor junior team members and lead technical initiatives Preferred Qualifications * Experience with reporting/BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, Crystal Reports) * Scripting experience (Python, Shell/Bash) for automation and data validation * Familiarity with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar) * Experience with ticketing/ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy) * Knowledge of data modeling concepts and relational database design * Exposure to cloud database platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database, GCP Cloud SQL) * Experience with version control systems (Git) * Prior experience leading a support team or serving as an on-call lead Key Skills * Advanced SQL Development (MySQL & PostgreSQL) * Business Requirements Analysis * Production Support Leadership & Root Cause Analysis * Data Analysis & Data Quality * ETL / Reporting * Agile/Scrum Collaboration * Mentorship & Stakeholder Communication Why Tria?
