Job Description:

Saab, Inc. Surveillance Systems Division is seeking a Senior Director, Product Management to lead the organization's product development strategy out of our East Syracuse, NY office. This role reports directly to the Vice President and General Manager of Surveillance Systems, and with the supporting functions of Saab, Inc., will define the product strategy, pricing, and execution for the Product Portfolio. The ideal candidate will develop a comprehensive Product Management strategy spanning each product lifecycle while developing and promoting customer opportunities that span across multiple product lines. This position is eligible for Saab, Inc.'s relocation package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall business, financial, and strategic performance of the Surveillance Systems product portfolio including budgeting, forecasting, revenue planning, profitability, and long-range business planning.

  • Develop and execute product portfolio strategies including product roadmap, pricing, market positioning, investment priorities, product lifecycle management process (PLCM), and product launch planning.

  • Drive successful execution of customer programs and contracts, ensuring delivery, profitability, resource alignment, and achievement of business objectives.

  • Identify and evaluate market trends, emerging technologies, competitive dynamics, and acquisition opportunities for portfolio growth and long-term business strategy.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying follow-on business opportunities and supporting business development initiatives.

  • Provide strategic leadership on portfolio investments, infrastructure requirements, resource planning, and cross-functional business priorities.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Product Managers, fostering talent growth and organizational effectiveness.

Compensation Range:$245,600 - $331,500

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, operations, or related field.

  • 15 or more years of demonstrated experience managing large Program or Product teams.

  • 10 or more years of significant experience in a high-technology or development environment, with preference for Aerospace and Defense experience.

  • Ability to pursue innovative product strategies and promote new ideas.

  • Ability to establish strategic plans and objectives.

  • Ability to estimate level of effort and associated costs used in BoE and project scheduling.

  • Ability to derive design requirements and provide input to system requirements.

  • Experience working on business capture activities including costing, proposal writing, and customer interaction.

  • Expertise in establishing and maintaining high impact customer relationships.

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
