Job description

Senior Accountant (Manager)

Our client has been growing steadily, and with that growth comes the need for a Senior Accountant (Manager) who is just as passionate about developing people as they are about the numbers. If you’ve spent the last few years navigating the complexities of public accounting and find that you actually enjoy the "people" side of the business, mentoring staff and managing workflows, we’d love to talk to you.

As a Senior Accountant, your focus is split between high-level technical oversight and team leadership. We aren’t just looking for someone to check boxes; we need a leader who can manage diverse client engagements while ensuring our junior and intermediate staff have the guidance they need to succeed.

A major part of this role is rooted in your audit background. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring compliance, accuracy, and quality across the board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of junior and intermediate accountants. You’ll be responsible for their professional development and performance management.
  • Engagement Management: Oversee multiple client engagements from start to finish, ensuring everything is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Quality Control: Review financial statements, tax filings, and accounting work prepared by the team with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Strategic Planning: Coordinate workflows and resource planning to keep the firm running smoothly during peak seasons.
  • Client Advisory: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, translating complex tax and accounting issues into actionable advice.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • CPA Designation: You must hold an active CPA designation.
  • Public Accounting & Audit: You have a solid foundation in public accounting with heavy experience in audit processes and compliance.
  • Proven Leadership: You have a track record of managing people, not just files. You’re comfortable coaching, managing performance, and developing a team.
  • Technical Knowledge: You have a deep understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Communication: You are an excellent communicator who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a client-focused, collaborative style.

We believe in a collaborative leadership style. You won’t be siloed in a corner; you’ll be an integral part of our firm’s operations, helping our client refine their best practices and improve how they serve.

Does this sound like the right fit for your next career move? If you’re a CPA with a knack for leadership and a solid audit background, we’d love to hear from you!
