Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with deep expertise in the semiconductor industry to support advanced manufacturing and high-tech facility projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who understands semiconductor process systems, facility integration, and the technical demands of cleanroom and fab environments.

The Senior Process Engineer will lead process engineering efforts for complex semiconductor projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and implement process systems that meet client, regulatory, and operational requirements. Candidates should either be based in Boise, Idaho or be fully open to relocation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of process engineering systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
  • Support semiconductor fab projects involving process utility systems, tool installation, process integration, and facility upgrades.
  • Develop and review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Provide technical leadership for process systems including chemicals, gases, ultrapure water, wastewater, slurry, and specialty process systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and manufacturing stakeholders.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure technical alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Perform process analysis, troubleshooting, risk assessments, and system performance evaluations.
  • Ensure designs and engineering deliverables comply with industry standards, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Support commissioning, startup, validation, and operational readiness activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant process engineering experience, with significant experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing environments, including cleanroom operations and high-purity process systems.
  • Experience with semiconductor process utilities such as:
    • Specialty gases
    • Bulk chemicals
    • Chemical distribution systems
    • Ultrapure water systems
    • Wastewater treatment systems
    • Vacuum systems
    • Exhaust systems
  • Proficiency in developing and reviewing:
    • Process Flow Diagrams PFDs
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams P&IDs
    • Equipment and system specifications
    • Process calculations and design documentation
  • Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes, standards, and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Boise, Idaho, or relocate as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer license PE or ability to obtain.
  • Experience supporting large-scale semiconductor fab expansions, retrofits, or greenfield projects.
  • Familiarity with hazardous production materials $HPM$ systems and related safety requirements.
  • Experience with commissioning and startup support in semiconductor facilities.
  • Knowledge of project delivery in EPC, design-build, or consulting engineering environments.
  • Master's degree in engineering or related discipline.
