Position Summary:

CVS Health is seeking an experienced indirect tax professional, with an ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a large and complex organization and join efforts in driving change.

As a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst, you will report to the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax. Your primary responsibilities include working with internal and external partners to ensure all indirect tax compliance, audit, and accounting obligations are completed. Success in this role will require a passion for identifying and driving process improvements, enthusiasm for leading change, and a low tolerance for the status quo.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with a team of tax professionals to consistently deliver all sales, use, and property tax obligations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze sales, use, and property tax compliance data; continuously improve processes, and recommend automation integration to improve the end-to-end compliance process and reliability of results.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party consultants and internal parties to resolve indirect tax related issues, including but not limited to notices and business license matters.
  • Assist with indirect tax audits; compile and review requested documentation and audit workpapers, document results and assist in implementing solutions to reduce future exposure.
  • Prepare month end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for indirect tax accounts.
  • Research, analyze, and communicate the impact of indirect tax law developments.
  • Monitor and evaluate business activities for filing responsibilities and nexus exposure to mitigate indirect tax deficiencies.
  • Research, understand, and determine the taxability of the goods and services being sold and purchased by the company.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience in a finance function (public or private)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, results-oriented finance department or similar working environment.
  • Experience with process automation, improvements, and standardization, ensuring enhanced controls and the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Minimum 1 year of indirect tax compliance experienceutilizing analytical skills with specific subject matter expertise and tax research skills, including a deep understanding of US retail and healthcare sales taxability concepts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and tactfully, both verbally and in writing, successfully translating always-complex tax rules for business partners and customers.
  • Ability to work productively with a high degree of independence and with accuracy and high attention to detail, while knowing when to seek guidance or assistance.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and collaborative culture, especially during high-pressure periods.

Preferred Computer and Software Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability and initiative to learn new systems required to perform job responsibilities

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
