Senior Manager, Contract Manager

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Contract Manager to join our Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) team. As a Senior Manager, Contract Manager, you will work in a collaborative environment that values insight, creative thinking, problem solving, intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset. You will partner with world-class professionals to bring procurement resources, tools, methodologies and judgment to business units. You will work closely with internal business resources, stakeholders, and legal across the enterprise to help equip contracting with sensible, well-managed processes and controls necessary to ensure all thirdโ€‘party agreements meet Capital One's rigorous contracting standards, processes and requirements. You will be responsible for updating and managing the full catalog of contracting templates used by ESM to support thirdโ€‘party engagements, and enable contracting efficiency by evolving the template library to fit the changing needs of business customers. Your role will also focus heavily on the thoughtful change management necessary to ensure all updates to contracting policies, procedures, systems, and templates are implemented in a manner that is wellโ€‘communicated and socialized with necessary stakeholder groups, including ESM's contract manager population.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Contracting Processes/Controls Management: Coordinating and managing updates to critical contracting processes and controls designed to promote adherence to rigorous internal and external standards.
  • Contracting Systems Management: Leading the management of systems that house ESM's contracting templates and driving critical thinking and collaboration across ESM teams necessary to implement updates and ensure continuity in the contracting function.
  • Contracting Templates Management: Working closely with stakeholder groups and contract management teams to update, streamline, and evolve contracting templates, playbook, and other training material in a manner that promotes efficiency while also maintaining Capital One's contracting risk profile in line with an everโ€‘changing legal, regulatory and market framework.
  • Change Management: Designing and implementing thoughtful change management practices targeted to communicate critical information to appropriate stakeholder groups and minimize disruptions to the contracting function.
  • Process Improvement: Acting as a thought partner in reviewing existing processes that impact contracting to implement changes towards increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the larger ESM team, business teams and various stakeholders as appropriate.

Note: Limited travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 6 years of legal or professional experience in drafting, evaluating, negotiating and executing procurement contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate
  • 7+ years of experience in drafting, evaluating, negotiating and executing procurement contracts
  • 7+ years of experience creating and executing contracting and negotiation strategies
  • 3+ years of process management experience

The minimum and maximum fullโ€‘time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for partโ€‘time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidateโ€™s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
