Senior Pipeline Engineer – Transmission & Distribution
Location: Houston, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to lead pipeline design activities for transmission and distribution projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels in technical leadership, project execution, and client-facing responsibilities.
You will guide project teams through conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction support, and quality assurance—ensuring highquality results that meet project goals, budget constraints, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead pipeline project design from concept through completion, ensuring technical and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid summaries, and procurement recommendations.
  • Review vendor drawings and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and clients.
  • Support schedule development, staffing plans, budgeting, cost estimates, and change management.
  • Apply expert knowledge of pipeline standards, codes, engineering methods, and industry best practices.
  • Perform quality reviews on engineering documents, designs, and construction deliverables.
  • Conduct and oversee field inspections, measurements, technical evaluations, and construction support.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and professional audiences.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; support business development and project pursuits.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead discipline-specific engineering activities.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards and safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) and 7+ years pipeline engineering experience;
    OR equivalent engineering technology degree + FE exam + 7+ years experience;
    OR Master’s degree + 6+ years experience.
  • Strong expertise in pipeline design practices, engineering codes, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related engineering software.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage complex deliverables, and coordinate multidiscipline efforts.
  • PE License preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to ~15%.
