POSITION TITLE: Intern-Support

POSITION SUMMARY: 

We are seeking a motivated undergraduate student to assist with modernizing and improving our radioactive materials inventory database. Working alongside the Radiation Safety team, the intern will help evaluate an existing Microsoft Access database, improve its organization and functionality, and develop tools that make data management more efficient.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

This position works in a typical office environment. With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to sit and type at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks and performs tasks that require fine dexterity and repetitive motions using the arms, hands, wrists, and fingers. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process. 

  • Part-time: Up to 19 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week when school is not in session.
  • This position is not eligible for benefits.
  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Access through coursework, projects, or previous work.
  • Evaluate and document the current Microsoft Access database.
  • Assist with redesigning and improving the database structure and organization.

COMPENSATION: The expected hiring range for this position is $17.75 to $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May include: Stationary position for an extended period of time, traverse campus/facility as needed, operate machinery such as computer, phone, copy machine; exposure to cold or hot temperatures.
