About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant to join the Business Banking Risk team to play a critical role in assessing and optimizing collections and workout operations including ownership of related credit risk models and strategies. Lead complex initiatives with Business Banking collections and workout operations to improve efficiency, execution and effectiveness of collections and loss mitigation processes.

This includes leading collections/workout analytics to identify and then drive opportunities to streamline process and enhance outcomes; design and advance modeling and other automated, data-driven capabilities to improve consistency, scalability and speed of decisioning; and provide insights to Business Banking leaders (business, operations and risk) to ensure alignment between strategy, operations and risk expectations.


In this role, you will:

  • Partner closely with Operations and Technology teams: work directly with Unsecured Lending Operations and Business Banking Operations to improve day-to-day execution
  • Translate analytics into actionable changes in workflows, strategies and process.
  • Provide ongoing challenge to ensure operational procedures and credit strategies are practical and effective in execution; recommend and collaborate to implement streamlined, scalable operating models; ensure alignment between credit strategy, operational execution and policy requirements
  • Lead cross-functional teams across risk and front line to advance automation and data-driven capabilities
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual processes and improve decisioning speed
  • Partner to enhance tools, reporting and infrastructure; promote consistent and repeatable processes through better use of data and analytics
  • Own strategy design, monitoring, credit policy and models: design and refine collections and loss mitigation strategies; track performance metrics and benchmarks; analyze and quantify impacts of policy and procedure changes on trends, providing statistical and financial modeling in support of operations
  • Manage rollout of programs, develop testing agenda, drive funding and execution of efficiency updates: synthesize complex data into clear, decision-ready insights; provide recommendations to management on risk trends, operational improvements and strategic actions


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep credit risk strategy and operations experience in, collections / loss mitigation and recovery within financial services (small business or commercial preferred)
  • Proficiency in data and analytics skills (SQL, SAS, Python, or similar) with ability to translate large, complex data into actionable insights and guide analysts in producing high quality, decision ready analysis
  • Proven experience developing and optimizing collections, recovery and workout strategies, including segmentation, treatment design, and prioritization and integration into operational workflows
  • Strong partnership and influence skills, with the ability to work closely with operations teams to align on priorities, challenge constructively and drive adoption of process and strategy changes.
  • Track record of improving operational efficiency, including identifying process gaps, streamlining workflows and advancing automation or scalable, data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to connect analytics to execution, translating insights into practical, implementable recommendations that balance risk objectives with operational constraints.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to tailor insights to diverse audiences (operations, analytics, risk, leadership) using clear, data-backed narratives and visualizations.
  • Advanced problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills with experience working across multiple data sources and times series to monitor performance, diagnose issues and inform continuous improvement.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
