Job Title: Sr. Data Developer

Location (city, state): Oklahoma City, OK

Pay: $100,000 - $200,000 / year depending on experience.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm with flexibility.

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Position Summary:

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Developer with deep expertise in SQL and a strong background in oil and gas operations. This individual will play a key role in supporting field operations, drilling, and production teams by building reliable, real-time data systems and visualizations using Power BI, Spotfire, and Databricks.

As the company transitions to mobile-friendly tools and modern data platforms, this role will be instrumental in helping bridge the gap between legacy systems and next-generation analytics—ensuring business users have the insights they need to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Extract, clean, and validate data using SQL from multiple upstream systems, including Allegro, Aries, and ProCount databases.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards in Power BI and Spotfire to support real-time operational visibility, performance tracking, and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate with drilling, completions, and production teams to gather reporting requirements and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Leverage Databricks to streamline large data workflows and support advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, data engineering, and field staff to enhance data reliability and governance.
  • Document data processes, dashboards, and workflows to ensure clarity and repeatability across the team.
  • Translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in a data analyst or data systems analyst role.
  • 2+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry is required.
  • Strong SQL expertise — this is the most critical skill for success in this role.
  • Proficiency in Power BI (primary reporting tool going forward).
  • Hands-on experience with Spotfire (currently in use for many dashboards).
  • Familiarity with Databricks and modern data lakehouse environments.
  • Experience with oil & gas enterprise systems such as Aries, Allegro, Quorum, SAP, WellView, SiteView, or ProCount — candidates don’t need all, but a solid combination is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills — you’ll be working across technical and business units.
