We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer for Operations and Maintenance to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Work in close coordination with team leads, project managers, network architects, and engineers from other service areas to provide Tier III support for the MDA Enterprise.
  • Take part in daily/weekly/monthly Battle Rhythms contributing to maintenance checks and regular network services of the team.
  • Generate/provide status reports, provide network anomaly analysis, and develop engineering red lines as needed to support network maintenance actions, engineering changes/upgrades, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Serve as an Operations and Maintenance expert and provide technical contribution on outage or troubleshooting bridge calls.
  • Regularly respond to, create and troubleshoot support Incident tickets and Work Orders in the Remedy IT Service Management system.
  • Be required to participate in an on-call rotation for network support functions if incidents were to arise after core hours.

This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. This is an in-office position, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week with an on-call rotation for any after-hours troubleshooting requirements.

  • Be able to work in a team environment, have good interpersonal skills, be a quick learner, and have a positive attitude.
  • Have strong attention to detail and diligent record keeping

What You Bring
Basic Requirements:
  • Must have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
    • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience
  • Must have 6, or more, months of experience working in a management or leadership role
  • Must have experience with Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL); Multiple network types (i.e. LAN, WAN, VxLAN, SDN)
  • Must be proficient in routing and switching protocols to include BGP, OSPF, STP, TCP/UDP, voice, video, VPN/VRF, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, SD-WAN, SD-Access, ISE, DNAC, etc.
  • Must have experience with routing and switching hardware to include an array of Cisco platforms, Palo Alto, and KG-175 encryptors.
  • Must have experience with Open STIG vulnerability identification
  • Must have an active DoW 8570 IAG Level II certification (ex: Security+)
  • Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:
  • Have 1, or more, relevant certifications to include CCNP and CISSP
  • Have experience with vendors such as Netscout, BlueCoat, NetScaler
  • Have an understanding of Independent Verification and Validation/CORA (CCRI) Processes and Procedures and critical thinking skills
  • Have experience with Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
  • Have experience with Managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Telecommunications infrastructures.
  • Have experience in management or leadership roles
