Job Description Senior Machine Design Engineer Location: LaVergne, TN Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday Pay: $100,000-$110,000 Position Overview M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Machine Design Engineer to support the design, development, and commissioning of custom automation equipment. This role is responsible for machine design, documentation, and project execution while ensuring projects stay within schedule and budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in machine design, strong SolidWorks expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining engineering standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities Design and detail custom automated machinery while maintaining project schedules and budgets Produce high-quality machine designs aligned with customer quotations and specifications Provide timing charts, device lists, and supporting documentation for the controls department Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, customer, and internal engineering standards Perform engineering calculations related to load capacity, deflection, force, and mechanical sizing Analyze customer part prints and geometric tolerances to determine design impact Evaluate tolerances and determine proper mechanical fits Develop concept drawings and machine design layouts as required Produce documentation used by manufacturing and assembly teams Select materials, finishes, and hardness levels based on application requirements Select appropriate purchased components and mechanical systems Design manufactured components with consideration for machining processes and manufacturing efficiency Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams professionally Lead or assist in internal and external design reviews Prepare documentation for purchased components including BOMs and quotations Prepare documentation for manufactured components including release lists and detailed drawings Develop documentation for assembly teams including assembly drawings and component specifications Lead project-specific design teams throughout the design lifecycle Mentor and support junior designers and engineers Support mechanical commissioning and machine startup activities Travel as required for sales support, project investigation, and machine installation Assist the applications team with quotations, pricing, concept drawings, and project schedules Required Qualifications 15+ years of machine design experience 10+ years of SolidWorks experience Strong knowledge of custom machine design and automation systems Ability to perform engineering calculations related to mechanical design Experience working with manufacturing, machining, and assembly processes Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to lead projects and mentor engineering team members Job presented by M Force Partners M Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
