Position Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise network, servers, operating systems, and communication infrastructure across all regional locations. You must be a self-motivated problem solver with a passion for establishing and maintaining a stable network infrastructure.


The Network Engineer must ensure the security, integrity, and high availability of core systems and infrastructure. This includes developing, managing, and maintaining the network infrastructure to support the business operations. Key components such as software, hardware, cybersecurity tools, and data storage systems are essential to preserving seamless and secure connectivity across the enterprise.


A successful candidate should have a broad range of technical, people, and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid foundation in information technology.


You will be expected to work under moderate supervision. This position will require the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional holidays as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management, monitoring, and daily operations of our enterprise network to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Identify and mitigate security threats through proactive updates and strategic planning in alignment with IT Leadership.
  • Support IT projects with technical expertise and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the deployment and tracking of equipment and assets.
  • Lead network-related projects from initiation to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to manage escalations and issues, ensuring consistent service delivery across the organization.
  • Contribute to the team by identifying opportunities to improve user satisfaction and expanding the IT knowledge base.
  • Support and monitor compliance with company-wide and IT policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational standards.
  • Participate in broader technology initiatives across the company, offering network expertise and support as needed.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network administration or a similar role with enterprise environments.


Certifications
  • Industry Recognized Networking Certification (e.g. CCNA or equivalent) - Required
  • Microsoft Certificated Solutions Expert (MCSE) – Preferred

  • Operating Systems and Servers: Microsoft Windows Server (All Versions), Microsoft Terminal Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft Group Policies
  • Virtualization and Cloud: VMware, Microsoft Hyper V, cloud hosting concepts, and remote access
  • Networking: DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP routing, subnets, VPNs, routers, switches, wireless technologies, and local and network printing
  • Security: Network and endpoint security best practices, virus/malware removal,
  • Backup and Recovery: Backup strategies
  • Device Management: Mobile devices, mobile device management (MDM), hardware management and software upgrade management
Preferred Tools and Knowledge
  • Solid experience with enterprise-grade security tools, including comprehensive SIEM and vulnerability management solutions used to monitor, assess, and remediate network threats.
