Job description

SUMMARY:

The Kraft Group is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support Gillette stadium in Foxborough, MA. Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and supporting various components of the network as well as evaluating new technologies. This position will help support our voice and data facilities and services. LAN, WAN and WiFi infrastructure in a Microsoft environment. The successful candidate will be skilled in network design, management and troubleshooting and have experience in TCP/IP fundamentals; HP, Extreme, and Cisco network systems, LAN networking technologies, including VLAN's and network routing protocols. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, be able to work independently, and be able to work on multiple initiatives concurrently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current capabilities.
  2. Design and deploy wireless and wired network infrastructure solutions that control WiFi network access points in public and private environments.
  3. Design fiber-based wireless and wired backhaul solutions.
  4. Track and record roadmap, managing RFQs, benchmarks, and more.
  5. Resolve issues related to traffic flow, security, backhaul, and mobile data offloading.
  6. Create security policies for trusted/untrusted WiFi access. Continuously improve network security according to industry best practices.
  7. Provide overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs. Assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems.
  8. Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals and plans to meet objectives.
  9. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
  10. Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  11. Manage structured cabling infrastructure.
  12. Manage telecommunications and third-party support vendors.
  13. Maintain and Monitor various Network Management Systems and respond to incidents, events and alerts.
  14. Maintain and Monitor various Security Management Systems and respond to incidents, events and alerts.
  15. Maintain asset inventories.
  16. Continuous updating of system and network as-built diagrams and documentation.
  17. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  18. Responsible for creation, maintenance and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards, in accordance with Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems or Engineering preferred
  • 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience architecting large-scale wireless network infrastructure, with experience designing outdoor/carrier-grade WiFi. Experience with Wireless protocols such as 802.11[a|b|g|n|ac|ax].
  • 4+ years of experience with Layer 2 protocols such as STP, 802.1[d|s|w], 802.1q, LACP, 802.1x.
  • 4+ years of experience with Layer 3 protocols such as IP[v4|v6], TCP, UDP, ARP, [HSRP|VRRP], SNMP, NAT.
  • 4+ years of experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, ECMP, and VRFs.
  • 4+ years of experience with stateful firewalls, non-stateful filtering and packet inspection.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions based on technical confidence within mobility and core technology.
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3
  • Knowledge of IT standards, procedures, policies
  • Understanding of the OSI model
  • Wireless LAN (WiFi) design, including site surveys.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, including Solarwinds Network Monitoring Software
  • Proficient in Extreme Networks, Dell and HP Network Device Management Systems and Network Automation
  • Strong oral, written, and documentation communication skills
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
  • Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness
