Job description

Saalex is seeking a Senior Network & Systems Administrator in Ridgecrest, CA to support the design, implementation, security, and sustainment of enterprise network and computing environments. The selected candidate will serve as a technical lead for network infrastructure, cybersecurity compliance, systems administration, and modernization initiatives supporting mission-critical operations.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $105k-$120k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Onsite. Ridgecrest, CA.
Essential Functions:
  • Design, implement, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise network and computer systems.
  • Support WAN, BAN, LAN, and wireless (Wi-Fi) infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related technologies.
  • Lead network modernization, upgrades, patching, firmware updates, and infrastructure sustainment activities.
  • Implement network security controls, system hardening, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and configuration baselines.
  • Support cybersecurity audits, compliance requirements, and Government-directed security controls.
  • Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and customer stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements
Required:
  • Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure and computer systems.
  • Experience designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network solutions.
  • Experience supporting WAN, BAN, and LAN environments.
  • Experience administering routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless network technologies.
  • Experience with system hardening, STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, patching, firmware updates, and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and enterprise infrastructure sustainment.
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:
  • CCNA certification or equivalent experience demonstrating expertise in routing, switching, and network security.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal Government environments.
  • Experience implementing DISA cybersecurity controls and supporting compliance activities.
  • Experience supporting Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto, or similar enterprise networking technologies.
  • Experience leading infrastructure modernization or network engineering projects.

Education/Years of Experience:
Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of related experience OR a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and 9 years of related experience required.
Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Top Secret clearance preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
