About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Applications, , the Senior Business Analyst, ERP, will be a member of the Finance Applications team and contribute to the support, configuration, enhancement, development, and implementation of the ERP and financial applications suite.

This role will focus on managing and delivering key system improvements and projects that enhance the useability and business value of these systems. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the business stakeholder teams in the planning, design, configuration and deployment of new functionality and enhancements to existing and planned applications.
  • Work with functional managers to define business and financial requirements and system goals and identify and resolve system issues.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of application enhancements, from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
  • Manage and drive external consulting relationships and related deliverables
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing financial systems and develop strategies for improving and further leveraging these systems, including interfaces between systems.
  • Assess vendor roadmaps and determine the impacts on the long and short-term lifecycle planning process for financial system upgrades and new application or system procurement.
  • Conduct unit tests on system improvements; plan, organize and assist with user acceptance testing.
  • Lead and convene working groups to address specific problems identified with application functions and features
  • Elicit, analyze and document business system requirements; prepares formal documentation
  • Support the resolution of critical, escalated system incidents
  • Primary software vendor relationship manager
  • Lead smaller initiatives and enhancements, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Work with the stakeholders to develop objectives, set priorities, and participate in planning for the systems including developing multi-year roadmaps and plans

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology or related field; 
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as an ERP business analyst working within the accounting, procurement, billing, receivables and payables subject areas
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; 
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations; ability to manage time effectively;
  • Strong analytical and management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements; 
  • Ability to identify problems and deal with situations and issues proactively;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and affectively with executives, managers, and subject matter experts;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a conscientious, consistent and thorough manner; 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Familiar with business analysis methodology and frameworks
  • Exposure in the areas of application integration and methodologies, business process design, process re-engineering and continuous improvement;
  • Exposure with internal control procedures and audit requirements in relation to data access, security and master data configuration would be an asset. 
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) preferred
