Senior Software Engineer


Columbus, OH


Global Automotive Supplier is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. Company offers:

Position Summary

  • Plan and execute full software development lifecycle for each assigned project, adhering to company standards and expectations.
  • Improve operational efficiencies through automation. 
  • Support four U.S. facilities (three in Ohio, one in Georgia). 
  • Occasional travel and/or after-hours support required.
  • Attend meetings as a representative of software development division of IT. 
  • Create custom software solutions by studying business needs, conferring with process owners, examining systems flow, data usage, and internal processes. 
  • Be able to create meaningful presentation material to clearly communicate ideas, analysis, and results to various levels of associates who may or may not be technically minded. 
  • Have strong time management and project management skills to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on time within specification. 
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Evaluate and respond to user feedback.


Required skills and qualifications: 

  • BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline. Will also consider 4+ years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Proficiency in C# coupled with strong object-oriented design skills.
  • Extensive experience with .NET Framework.
  • Knowledge of relational databases (SSMS and Oracle).
  • Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience with various Microsoft environments/tools (SSRS, SSIS, Visual Studio).
  • Experience developing web applications using ASP.NET framework.
  • Experience developing windows applications (WPF and WinForms).
  • Experience with source code version control (Azure DevOps and GIT).
  • Experience with test-driven development.
  • Experience working as technical/project lead throughout the full software development lifecycle.
  • Project management knowledge (requirements, design, planning, deployment).
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred skills and qualifications: 

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing environment work a plus.
  • Experience coaching/mentoring junior developers.
  • Experience with PLC controls, integration, and data capture.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting (execution plans, indexes, query statistics).
