Job description

Mitchell Hamline School of Law is seeking two collaborative and creative Marketing Managers to join our Marketing team. These positions serve as strategic marketing partners, supporting either Admissions or Alumni & Advancement in advancing the school's mission and strategic priorities.
As a Marketing Manager, you'll develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that strengthen engagement, support institutional goals, and advance the Mitchell Hamline brand. Working closely with campus partners, you'll create compelling content across print, digital, web, email, social media, video, and events while managing multiple projects from concept through execution.
We're looking for professionals who are strong writers, creative problem solvers, and relationship builders who enjoy collaborating with colleagues, serving internal clients, and telling stories that inspire action.
About the Opportunities
We are hiring for two Marketing Manager positions. While the responsibilities are similar, each role supports a different client group:
  • Marketing Manager, Admissions supports recruitment, enrollment, and prospective student communications.
  • Marketing Manager, Alumni & Advancement supports alumni engagement, donor communications, and fundraising initiatives.

Essential Functions
Marketing Strategy & Communications
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies supporting assigned areas and institutional priorities.
  • Develop, write, edit, and produce compelling content across print, digital, web, email, social media, video, and other channels.
  • Maintain assigned web content and ensure communications are current, engaging, accessible, and consistent with the Mitchell Hamline brand.
  • Manage marketing and communications initiatives from planning through execution, including development of creative assets and coordination with campus partners.

Content Development & Storytelling
  • Develop stories and content that highlight Mitchell Hamline students, alumni, faculty, programs, and impact.
  • Plan and produce multimedia content for digital and social platforms.
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, designers, and other partners to develop high-quality creative assets.

Client Partnership & Project Management
  • Serve as a strategic marketing partner to an assigned client group, developing a strong understanding of its goals, audiences, and priorities.
  • Manage multiple projects, campaigns, and deadlines while coordinating with stakeholders across the law school.
  • Provide marketing and communications guidance to campus partners and help ensure consistent messaging and brand standards.
  • Support events, initiatives, and other institutional priorities as needed.

Marketing Performance & Innovation
  • Monitor campaign and channel performance, including email, web, and social media engagement, and use results to recommend improvements.
  • Stay current on trends and emerging practices in marketing, communications, and higher education.
  • Recommend new approaches, tools, and content opportunities to engage target audiences.

Portfolio-Specific Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager, Admissions will have primary responsibility for marketing and communications supporting recruitment, enrollment, prospective and admitted student engagement, and related Admissions initiatives.
The Marketing Manager, Alumni & Advancement will have primary responsibility for marketing and communications supporting alumni engagement, donor communications, fundraising campaigns, stewardship, and related Advancement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strength in writing, editing, storytelling, and content development across print and digital channels.
  • Experience managing marketing or communications projects from planning through execution.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and content management systems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, admissions, advancement, alumni relations, or a related environment.
  • Experience with CRM, email marketing, content management, or donor management platforms.
  • Experience with graphic design and/or video editing tools.
  • Knowledge of branding, visual identity, and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience developing communications for senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with analytics and using performance data to improve marketing efforts.

Pay Range
The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
