Job Overview
In this role as the Senior Project Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for the management of injection mold tool build programs and overseeing the project management from concept through to production working with cross functional teams. You will also support the management of Getinge owned injection mold tools as well as our molding suppliers. You will be responsible to work with our suppliers for trouble shooting molding and tooling issues and resolve in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Tooling Responsibilities (55%):
  • Track and oversee repair, refurbishment, and replacement of Atrium owed injection mold tooling. to
  • Evaluate mold designs to ensure the most cost-effective solutions related to production goals,

durability, specifications, and cost are met.
  • Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and availability of parts and equipment.
  • Lead all tooling transfers and new tool builds/validations.
  • Manage and maintain tooling database.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations based on mold software analysis.
  • Engineering support to the development of new designs, improvements, and modifications to

existing products and manufacturing methods, and selection of raw materials.
  • Manage and maintain tooling database.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of tooling capital budgets.

Project Related Responsibilities (45%):
  • Provide technical and project leadership for complex mold design, develop and build programs.
  • Prepare project plans detailing proposed work costs and timetables.
  • Manage unexpected program delays and direct cross-functional team efforts to re-align with established project timelines
  • Mitigate risks to Atrium's Supply Chain by understanding developments and changes at suppliers and changes in technology that may cause supply disruption.
  • Prepare reports and document progress with senior management.
  • Assists in special projects as needed.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as requested.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of ten years direct experience or demonstrated commensurate experience in the field.
  • Practical knowledge of mold making and injection molding process.
  • Scientific Injection Molding concepts and use.
  • Mold building knowledge including machining tolerances, steels, heat treating, plating, and stack up tolerances.
  • General knowledge of applicable FDA and ISO guidelines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Experience with process and/or product validation desired.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel/Word) and Microsoft Project.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software.

  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments.
  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles.
  • Travel required 25 - 30%.
    Salary Range: $92k-$115k based on experience
