Interlachen Country Club is seeking a Mechanical Trades Technician. The Mechanical Trades Technician is a key member of the Facilities & Engineering Team and reports to the Director of Facilities & Senior Building Engineer. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, self-motivated professional who takes pride in their work and values being part of a hospitality-driven team environment. Responsibilities and Expectations

Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Maintenance

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:
  • HVAC systems, air handlers, RTUs, exhaust and makeup air systems
  • Boilers, pumps, hydronic heating systems, expansion tanks, and controls
  • Domestic water systems, plumbing fixtures, drains, and valves
  • Mechanical equipment, motors, belts, bearings, and drives
  • Electrical systems including lighting, motors, disconnects, controls, and basic troubleshooting
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned systems to maximize reliability and efficiency
  • Monitor building automation and mechanical control systems where applicable
  • Respond to and resolve mechanical issues efficiently while minimizing impact to club operations

Kitchen and Foodservice Equipment Support

  • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment including:
  • Dishwashers, glass washers, and booster heaters
  • Cooking equipment including ranges, ovens, fryers, steamers, and warmers
  • Refrigeration units, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and exhaust hoods
  • Coordinate with outside service vendors as needed while providing in-house first response

Secondary/Facility Support

  • Assist the Senior Building Engineer with larger repairs, projects, inspections, and preventative maintenance initiatives
  • Support facility operations during peak periods, emergencies, and special projects
  • Assist with vendor coordination, system shutdowns, and operational troubleshooting as needed

Pool Operations (Seasonal – Secondary Coverage)

  • Memorial Day through Labor Day, provide secondary coverage for pool operations
  • Support the Building Engineer with CPO-related tasks, including:
  • Routine water testing and chemical adjustments
  • Monitoring pool systems and equipment
  • Assisting with compliance checks, logs, and documentation
  • Responding to pool-related issues during weekend shifts
  • Communicating proactively with operations staff regarding pool conditions and operational needs
  • Ensure safe, clean, and member-ready pool operations while escalating issues as needed

Event Support and Set-Up

  • Assist with event setup and room conversions, including safely moving tables, chairs, and equipment
  • Support installation of event-related items including signage, banners, lighting, and related materials
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and operational support during events as needed

Service and Member Experience

  • Interact professionally and courteously with club members, guests, and fellow team members
  • Approach all requests with a solution-oriented, service-first mindset
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism in all member-facing areas
  • Take ownership of issues until fully resolved


Ideal Qualifications and Attributes:

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical trades, facilities maintenance, or building engineering
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required or willingness to obtain within first 60 days
  • Minnesota Boiler Operator/Special Engineer License
  • Experience in hospitality, country club, resort, healthcare, or similar high-end environments preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Schedule and Availability

  • Primarily Monday – Friday, averaging 40 – 45 hours per week
  • Participate in a rotational weekend coverage schedule April – October
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday support may be required based on club events and operational needs
  • Maintain detailed logs through the work order system and communicate weekend activities and operational updates to leadership
