Senior Associate - Strategy at Prosper Strategies, the Marketing Agency for Nonprofits Prosper Strategies is seeking an experienced marketing and communications strategist to lead brand and marketing strategy-focused engagements with our nonprofit clients.  Prosper Strategies is Chicago’s leading marketing agency for the nonprofit sector. We’ve helped organizations ranging from Volunteers of America of Illinois to the Robert R. McCormick Foundation build their brands, develop their marketing plans and drive their missions forward. Our ideal candidate for this role will have experience in marketing research, messaging development, brand development/rebranding, marketing planning, writing/content development, and consultative client service. This person will be comfortable working in a fast-paced agency setting with impactful nonprofit clients.  RESPONSIBILITIES Key responsibilities in this role include: * Conducting and reviewing research using tools like surveys, focus groups and interviews * Leading client meetings and engaging each client’s diverse stakeholders to determine how to approach our firm’s strategic work * Discerning key insights from research that inform brand and marketing strategies * Developing research reports * Developing positioning and messaging recommendations for nonprofit clients * Writing key messages for nonprofit clients * Developing marketing strategies, plans and budgets for nonprofit clients * Training nonprofit staff in the implementation of their strategies * Leading the development of creative campaign concepts and plans for nonprofit clients * Overseeing nonprofit rebrands in collaboration with Prosper’s Director of Strategy * Presenting recommendations and strategies to nonprofit leadership, board members and other stakeholders * Writing and designing strategy deliverables (plans, recommendation decks etc.) * Managing creative contractors on visual elements of strategy projects, such as rebrands and brand refreshes * Leading client relationships with a subset of Prosper’s clients while they’re actively engaged in strategy work (facilitate meetings and calls, provide progress reports etc.) * Contributing to new business pitches in your area of expertise (strategy) * Collaborating with the Director of Strategy on their strategic projects, reviewing their deliverables and offering insight and support for their work * Serving as a thought leader by writing content for Prosper’s blog and newsletter QUALIFICATIONS  * At least 5-8 years of relevant full-time professional experience * Ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position listed above at an exceptional level with minimal support of more senior staff * Desire to work hard, have fun and make a difference * Desire to work with impactful nonprofits * Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, nonprofit management or related field * Strong writing skills * Experience conducting marketing research, building brands, or developing marketing plans (having all three will send you to the top of our list) NICE-TO-HAVES While not required for this position, we would prefer a candidate who has the following qualifications as well: * Nonprofit or agency experience (having both will send you to the top of our list) * Client service experience * Published examples of writing or editing experience We aim to build a team with diverse backgrounds and experiences and equity is one of our core values at Prosper Strategies.
