JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Process/Project Engineer

Location - Norwalk, CT

King Industries is seeking a Senior Process/Project Engineer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering and at least 15 years of experience in batch processing, distillation, and specialty chemicals.


Skills Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Solid understanding of chemical engineering processes (heat transfer, fluid flow, mass transfer, distillation, reaction engineering, extraction).
  • Proficient with computers for technical and business use.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across departments.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and improve chemical manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • Support process improvements and capacity upgrades.
  • Assist with operator training and maintain operating procedures.
  • Prepare technical documents (P&IDs, balances, layouts, controls).
  • Troubleshoot processes and improve efficiency, safety, and productivity.
  • Identify and reduce safety, environmental, and operational risks.
  • Participate in hazard analyses, safety reviews, and compliance efforts.
  • Manage equipment purchases, project costs, and timelines.
