Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Technology Operations owns and evolves Venture for Canada's internal technology ecosystem, including SaaS systems, workflow automation, AI tooling, and cybersecurity. This is a high-ownership role for a technical operator who combines systems thinking, hands-on execution, and strong project management. You will design and build systems, lead organization-wide tool rollouts, and ensure technology is secure, reliable, and widely adopted across the team. You will manage Venture for Canada's IT Help Desk & CRM Coordinator, providing technical leadership and coaching while ensuring the organization receives responsive day-to-day IT support. This role is expected to serve as the senior technical resource for complex issues, balancing hands-on problem solving with building scalable systems, processes, and team capability over time.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Venture for Canada's technology strategy, SaaS ecosystem, vendor relationships, and long-term systems roadmap, advising senior leaders on technology investments that strengthen organizational effectiveness
  • Define system architecture, standards, and documentation while proactively identifying gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Design, build, and implement automations, integrations, AI-enabled workflows, and custom AI solutions that improve internal operations and program delivery, partnering with internal teams and external vendors where appropriate
  • Lead cross-functional technology initiatives from planning through implementation, including stakeholder alignment, training, change management, and successful adoption
  • Own cybersecurity across systems, including access controls, data protection, vendor risk, and incident response
  • Provide senior technical leadership across Venture for Canada's technology environment, supporting complex organizational IT issues while ensuring reliable day-to-day operations through effective systems, documentation, and escalation processes
  • Manage, coach, and develop the IT Help Desk & CRM Coordinator, creating a high-performing support function while balancing immediate organizational needs with longer-term capability building
  • Partner closely with leaders across Programs, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and People to ensure technology investments align with organizational priorities and deliver meaningful business outcomes

Who You Are

  • A strategic thinker who's equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to solve technical challenges
  • Able to balance immediate operational needs with long-term systems thinking and continuous improvement
  • An experienced relationship builder who earns trust quickly and thrives leading work across multiple teams and functions
  • A confident people leader who enjoys coaching others, developing capability, and creating clarity in complex environments
  • Curious about emerging technology and energized by helping others confidently adopt new ways of working, including AI
  • An excellent communicator and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical senior leaders
  • Motivated by helping others succeed and committed to delivering thoughtful, user-centered technology solutions
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly as organizational priorities evolve

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in information technology, with at least 3 years in a senior IT leadership or strategic advisory role
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional technology implementations and system rollouts, including project management, stakeholder engagement, training, and change management
  • Experience managing and improving modern SaaS ecosystems, including HubSpot administration, systems architecture, integrations, APIs, automation platforms, and data quality
  • Experience applying AI tools, automations, and emerging technologies to improve organizational effectiveness. Experience building AI-enabled workflows or agents - or partnering with external technical specialists to deliver them - is considered a strong asset
  • Strong technical foundation across organizational IT, including cybersecurity, identity and access management, SaaS administration, troubleshooting, and supporting non-technical users
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing technical staff while building collaborative, service-oriented teams
  • Experience acting as a trusted technical advisor to cross-functional teams, translating complex technology into practical, user-friendly solutions
  • Experience supporting business tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Canva, HubSpot, learning management systems, survey platforms, and other cloud-based productivity tools
